Unit Information: We follow AWHONN staffing guidelines for patient ratios as best we can. This usually means 1 : 1 for active labor. 1: 2 if not in active labor. Can mean 1 : 3 triage or antepartum pts. If it gets super busy, each nurse may have to take an additional patient as needed.
