Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (L&D)

Location: Philadelphia, PA
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Night Shift)
Schedule: Full-Time, 36 Hours/Week
Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend (EOW) Required

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract assignment in Philadelphia, PA. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience and be skilled in providing comprehensive care to mothers during labor, delivery, recovery, and the immediate postpartum period. The RN will collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current ACLS certification
  • every other weekend (EOW)

Responsibilities

  • Assess, monitor, and care for patients throughout labor and delivery
  • Monitor maternal and fetal status, including fetal heart rate interpretation
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered
  • Assist physicians and healthcare providers during deliveries and emergency procedures
  • Educate patients and families regarding labor, delivery, recovery, and newborn care
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR
  • Respond effectively to obstetric emergencies and changes in patient condition
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote positive patient outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in high-acuity Labor & Delivery settings
  • Experience with labor induction, cesarean sections, and postpartum recovery
  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred but not required
