Description
Looking for qualified Registered Nurse to work Monday - Friday 8:00 - 4:30pm, with fulltime benefits. Salary is negotiable based on relevant experience. Duties include providing health care to secure detention facility residents and other Juvenile Services group home residents such as, completing medical health assesments, providing medical treatment and counseling and providing health education relevant to adolescent growth and development.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no formal supervisory responsibilities. May direct and monitor the work of part-time nurses, interns and trainees.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Requires graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing and two years of successful experience in graduate nursing, hospital work or related field.
Additional Requirements
Possession of certificate as a registered professional nurse as issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia;
When assigned to Juvenile Detention
Possession of valid Motor Vehicle License and acceptable driving record based on City criteria;
Prior to employment must have Criminal Record Check and, reference checks completed, and Child Protective Services check initiated. Prior to onset of employment must have tuberculin and drug screen as part of physical examination

This position requires you to work in a secured detention facility and provide medical treatment to adolescents, such as, performing routine physical assessments, and providing liaison activities with other health care providers. This position requires you to treat adolescents at a Detention Facility and other Juvenile Services residential group homes. Describe your experience with treating adolescents?

This position requires you to conduct training such as, medication management training to Detention facilties and group home staff, as well as, general health and hygiene, training to the residents. Describe your training experience?

This position requires a valid drivers license and acceptable driving record history. I certify that I have read the DMV Record Release Notice, and give the City of Lynchburg permission to obtain my Virginia Driving Record.
