The Inpatient Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional responsible for caring for all patients. The RN continuously evaluates personal and professional performance and makes necessary changes to increase productivity, and the quality of care delivered. The RN adheres to and supports the hospital's policies/procedures/goals/objectives to provide quality patient care.
Qualifications required
Experience as a Registered Nurse in a Hospital Med Surg or Inpatient setting
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Current Licensure with the State Board of Nurse Examiners
Current RN License in the state of practice
Current BCLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS, or ENPC certification
TNCC, preferred but not required
Educational requirements appropriate for meeting age-specific needs of patients presenting to the emergency center, including neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients, including emergency procedures required to stabilize patients of all ages.
Validate clinical skills outlined in the orientation checklist and maintain annual clinical competency.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
Essential Job functions and responsibilities
Use communication to establish relationships with patients, families, and the interprofessional healthcare team and collaborate on the plan of care.
Collaborates with the healthcare team to attain positive outcomes based on data, research, evidence, and professional standards of care.
Coordinates treatment plans; develops/implements discharge and/or transfer plans.
Ensures safe care for patients, staff, and visitors and standards within budgetary specifications, including time management, supply management, productivity, and quality of service.
Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals that contribute to the success of the organization; serves as a preceptor, mentor, and resource to others.

Occasional: Climb, Kneel, Crouch, Distinguish Colors, Exposure to noise/high-pitched noise, Exposure to hazards, allergens, toxins/chemicals/detergents/radiation
Rarely: Exposure to potential electric shock; Work in a confined area
Other: Must be able to wear personal protective equipment, including gloves, gowns, goggles, and masks.
Potential exposure to infectious diseases.
Potential for cuts and bruises.
Work Environment:
OSHA Category I: Normal routine involves exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissue as part of employment.
