Health First Careers is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Orthopedics department. As a Registered Nurse in our Med Surg / Orthopedics unit, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and promoting a positive and healing environment for our patients.

Key Responsibilities: • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patients condition • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians • Monitor and document patients progress and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare providers • Educate patients and their families on disease management, treatment plans, and self-care techniques • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records • Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations

Qualifications: • Current and valid Registered Nurse license in the state of Florida • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Med Surg or Orthopedics nursing • BLS and ACLS certifications • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Work Experience

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREDEducation: Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing. Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required. BSN preferred.

Licensure: Current Florida RN licensure or endorsement.

Certification: Must hold current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintain. Certification(s) as required by specific unit.

Experience: Must meet unit specific care requirements.

Language: Must be able to speak / understand written and verbal instructions in the English language.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must have visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform clinical tasks. Must have corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Must be able to lift, turn, pull, push or ambulate patients / equipment up to 90% of the assigned shift. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted up to 33% of the assigned shift. Must be able to stand, walk, bend and stoop up to 90% of assigned shift. Potential for exposure to bio-hazardous waste and known or unknown diseases.

MENTAL DEMANDS: Must have ability to work in often stressful environment with patients / families at various ages and levels of understanding. Must have ability to concentrate on multiple priority activities. Must have ability to respond appropriately to life threatening situations. Must have critical thinking and problem solving skills.
