Registered Nurse – Med/Surg Telemetry

Location: Ohio — Cleveland, Akron, Mayfield Heights, Garfield Heights, and Warrensville Heights
Contract: 13–20 weeks
Schedule: 36 hours per week

  • Straight Days: 3×12
  • Straight Nights: 3×12
  • Rotating Days/Nights: 3 days and 3 nights on a 72-hour schedule

Pay Package

Travelers: $58–$72/hour gross, based on shift flexibility and location
Locals: $45–$50/hour

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses to provide care in Med/Surg Telemetry settings. The RN will care for patients requiring medical-surgical nursing services and continuous cardiac monitoring while collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

Requirements

  • Minimum 18 months of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience.
  • Minimum 18 months of combined permanent experience in the specialty being applied for.
  • Active Ohio RN license or compact-state RN license required.
  • BLS and ACLS certification from AHA or American Red Cross required.
  • NIHSS certification required.
  • Recent Epic experience required.
  • One recent professional reference from a Manager, ANM, Supervisor, or Director in the applicable specialty is required.
  • Must successfully complete required ECG rhythm recognition and SafeMedicate assessments during orientation.
  • Must work at least every other holiday during the assignment.
  • Flu vaccination exemptions are limited to approved medical or religious exemptions.
  • COVID-19 vaccination exemptions are limited to approved medical or religious exemptions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to Med/Surg Telemetry patients.
  • Monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize changes in patient condition.
  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and document patient status.
  • Administer medications and treatments according to orders and established protocols.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records using Epic.
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and ongoing care.
  • Follow infection control, patient safety, and facility policies.
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
