Registered Nurse - Medical / Surgical - Contract

Job Title: Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg)

Location: Atlanta, GA 30342
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Days | 3x12-hour shifts (36 hours/week)
Shift Hours: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM (Varies)

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical/Surgical nursing experience.
• No local candidates within 50 miles of the facility.
• Required Certifications:
  • AHA BLS
  • AHA ACLS
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical and surgical patients.
• Perform patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other prescribed treatments.
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes in condition, and communicate findings to the healthcare team.
• Coordinate care with physicians, case managers, therapists, and ancillary staff.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge planning.
• Accurately document patient care and clinical interventions in the electronic medical record.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and infection prevention protocols.

Unit Details

• Unit: 621A Acute Medical Unit – RN Med/Surg
• Adult acute care medical/surgical unit providing comprehensive inpatient care for a variety of medical and post-surgical conditions.

Position Details

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Day shift, 36 hours per week (3x12-hour shifts).
