Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 12-Hour Night Shift (36 Hours Guaranteed) | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | Every Other Weekend


Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Medical Surgical Registered Nurse to provide quality patient care in a collaborative team-based environment. Nurses may be assigned to various Med/Surg units based on staffing and census needs and must be comfortable working alongside RNs, LPNs, and Patient Care Technicians.

36-hour and 48-hour workweek options available.

Note: Local rates apply to travelers residing within 50 miles of the facility.

Experience Requirements

Required

  • Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical RN experience

Preferred

  • 2 years of Medical Surgical RN experience

Required Licensure & Certifications

  • Active Michigan RN License
  • BLS (AHA)

Patient Population

Depending on unit assignment, nurses may care for a variety of medical and surgical patients.

  • Neurovascular Conditions

Cardiac / Pulmonary

  • Gastrointestinal Surgeries

  • Hysterectomy Patients
  • Mastectomy Patients

Patient Ratios

Night Shift

  • Typical Ratio: 1:5–1:6

High Census / Flex Staffing

  • Ratios may increase to 1:7–1:8
  • RN will be paired with an LPN for additional support during these situations

Floating Requirements

Required Floating

  • Will float to other Medical Surgical units based on facility needs

Typical Frequency

  • Approximately once per week, depending on staffing and census

Staffing Model

Candidates must be comfortable working collaboratively with:

  • Registered Nurses (RNs)
  • Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs)
  • Patient Care Technicians/Support Staff

Orientation

Important Requirement

  • Candidate must be available for the first two weeks of the assignment
  • Orientation attendance is mandatory

Scheduling Information

Weekly Hours

  • 36 Hours Guaranteed
  • 48-Hour Option Available

Weekend Requirement

  • Every Other Weekend

Scheduling Note

  • Block Scheduling Cannot Be Guaranteed or Approved
  • Candidates requiring block scheduling should not be submitted
