Travel Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical (Oncology)

Location: 1200 Northside Forsyth Drive, Cumming, GA 30041
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Days, 3×12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) – 36 Hours/Week
Department: 615F Acute Care Inpatient Oncology – Medical/Surgical
Local Policy: No local candidates within 50 miles

Position Summary

Northside Hospital is seeking an experienced Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse to join the Acute Care Inpatient Oncology unit for a 13-week travel assignment. The ideal candidate will have recent Med/Surg experience and be comfortable caring for adult patients with medical, surgical, and oncology-related conditions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of recent Medical/Surgical nursing experience
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Current AHA BLS
  • Current AHA ACLS
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical, surgical, and oncology patients.
  • Perform patient assessments, develop care plans, and monitor patient progress.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other prescribed treatments.
  • Monitor for changes in patient condition and respond appropriately to emergencies.
  • Educate patients and families on disease processes, medications, treatments, and discharge planning.
  • Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure quality patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical record documentation.

Additional Information

  • Holiday Requirement: Travelers must work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, or New Year's Day) and 1 of the 3 minor holidays (Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve).
