    Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical Unit
    Shift: 5:45 PM – 6:15 AM -Night Shift| Full-Time
    Location: East Houston Medical Center – Houston, TX

    Position Summary

    The Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse delivers high-quality, evidence-based care to adult patients in our medical-surgical unit. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care while supporting the interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

    This position is ideal for nurses who possess strong clinical judgment, compassion, and a desire to build meaningful relationships with patients and colleagues in a respectful, community-focused environment.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide safe, patient-centered nursing care in accordance with hospital policies and nursing standards.
    • Perform thorough patient assessments and document findings accurately.
    • Administer prescribed medications and treatments while monitoring and evaluating patient responses.
    • Collaborate with physicians and allied health professionals to coordinate patient care.
    • Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions.
    • Support and participate in quality improvement initiatives and best practice implementation.

     



    Requirements


    • Current RN license in the State of Texas (in good standing).
    • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
    • BLS, ACLS  and PALS certifications required and current.
    • At least one year of acute care experience preferred; medical-surgical experience highly valued.
    • Strong communication, organization, and critical thinking skills.
