Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical/Surgical Unit – Travel Assignment

Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical/Surgical
Department: Acute Surgical Unit (Job ID: 6271D)
Location: 3855 Pleasant Hill Road, Duluth, GA 30096
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks

Schedule

  • Shift: Nights
  • Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Schedule: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
  • Days: Varies

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent Medical/Surgical nursing experience preferred
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment
  • Strong assessment, prioritization, and patient care skills

Unit Overview

  • Fast-paced Acute Surgical Unit with a high patient turnover rate
  • Average of 8–15 patient discharges daily
  • Average of 8–15 admissions daily
  • Admissions may originate from:
    • Emergency Department (ED)
    • Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
    • Direct Admissions
  • Dedicated ADT (Admission, Discharge, Transfer) Nurse available to assist with patient flow and throughput

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to medical and surgical patients
  • Perform patient assessments, medication administration, and care coordination
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Manage admissions, discharges, and transfers efficiently in a high-volume environment
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation

Additional Information

  • Local candidates are not accepted if residing within 50 miles of the facility.

This 13-week travel assignment is ideal for an experienced Med/Surg RN who thrives in a dynamic, high-acuity environment and is comfortable managing frequent admissions, discharges, and patient transitions.
