Shift Details
• Shift: Rotating (Days / Nights) OR Night Shift
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Self-scheduling requests allowed)
• Orientation:

• Week 1: Monday–Friday (Day Shift)
• Week 2: 36 hours on-unit orientation
  • Weekend Requirement: Variable
  • Floating: Required within same or lower acuity units

The Registered Nurse – Med Surg Oncology will provide care in a mixed acuity PCU / Med Surg Tele unit supporting oncology patients.
This role involves caring for high-acuity patients with complex medical conditions, ensuring safe care delivery, and collaborating within a multidisciplinary oncology care team.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care
• Provide nursing care to oncology patients (solid tumors & blood cancers)
• Manage mixed acuity PCU / Med Surg Tele patients
• Monitor patient conditions and administer treatments
Patient Care & Safety
• Follow infection prevention protocols and fall prevention standards
• Ensure safe handling of high-acuity patients
• Deliver patient-centered care
Equipment & Technology
• Utilize Client telemetry systems (B450 monitors)
• Operate bladder scanners, Alaris pumps, PCA pumps
• Manage continuous bladder irrigation systems
Team Collaboration
• Work with multidisciplinary oncology care teams
• Support patient care coordination across units
• Float to equivalent or lower acuity units as needed
Documentation & Compliance
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Follow hospital and regulatory standards
• Utilize EMR systems for documentation
Must-Have Qualifications
• Minimum 2+ years of RN experience
• BLS Certification (Required)
• Experience in Med Surg / Telemetry or PCU settings
• Ability to work in high-acuity patient environments
Preferred Qualifications
• Oncology experience (Preferred, not required)
• Previous travel nursing experience
• Experience in telemetry and PCU environments
