Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical/Telemetry (Akron General)

Legacy Staffing has partnered with a world-class healthcare system in Akron, Ohio to hire experienced Registered Nurses (RN) for the Med/Surg Telemetry unit. This is a night shift opportunity (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week) with a pay range of $50-$55/hour, based on experience and qualifications.  This role focuses on delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced Med/Surg Telemetry environment while collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure outstanding patient outcomes. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients. 
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise individualized patient care plans. 
• Monitor, document, and communicate patients' conditions and responses to treatment. 
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments safely and accurately. 
• Carry out physician and nursing orders. 
• Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning and care needs. 
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and recovery expectations. 
• Collaborate with fellow caregivers to deliver a safe, comfortable, and positive patient experience. 

Required Qualifications: 

• Minimum 12 months of permanent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience. 
• Current Ohio RN License or Compact State RN License in hand. 
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN). 
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications. 
• Minimum one year of current acute care RN experience or military RN experience. 
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and patient advocacy skills. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or willingness to obtain within three years. 
• Physical Requirements: 
• Ability to lift, transfer, and assist patients safely. 
• Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift. 
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required. 
• Ability to work flexible hours and perform effectively in stressful situations. 
• Exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids. 
• Ability to perform medium-duty work, including lifting and moving up to 50 pounds occasionally.
