ONCOLOGY EXPERIENCE PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED!

Staffing ratios - goal is 1:4, but can be 1:5
Weekends - variable based on unit needs
No set/blocked scheduling as that is not something we offer our permanent staff

*Self-schedule requests - you will enter your schedule requests so we can see your preferred schedule before balancing and posting the final schedule

*First week of orientation is Mon - Fri dayshift. Second week is 36hrs of on-unit orientation with a preceptor

" The most common diagnoses include all subtypes of the following:
" Breast Cancer
" Lung Cancer
" Prostate Cancer
" Pancreatic Cancer
" Colon Cancer
" Esophageal Cancer
" Encounter for antineoplastic chemotherapy

Special Procedures/Unit Details
" 17 James cares for ALL solid tumor cancers throughout the spectrum of their cancer journey; from new diagnosis, through treatment, and also assisting with transition to end of life care.
" Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls
" Cares for patients that have true med surg issues

Certifications Required
" BLS

Skills Required:
" Telemetry Interpretation
" Telemetry monitoring

Certifications Preferred
" ONS Chemo

COMPUTERIZED CHARTING
" EPIC

Floating required to other MedSurg Oncology units
