Location: 101 County Route 97, Stony Brook, NY 11794
Work Schedule: Schedule: 72 hours biweekly / Every Other Weekend (EOW), unless otherwise specified
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (12-hour night shift)

Job Summary

We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide high-quality nursing care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The ideal candidate will have recent experience working in an acute care facility of similar size and level and be comfortable caring for critically ill and medically complex newborns.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to newborns and critically ill neonates in the NICU.

• Monitor patients, assess changes in condition, and respond promptly to clinical needs.

• Administer medications and treatments as ordered.

• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.

• Educate and support parents and families regarding newborn care and treatment.

• Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, and patient-safety protocols.

• Respond appropriately to emergencies and changes in neonatal status.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.

• Preferably 2 years of recent experience in an acute care facility of similar size and level as the hospital.

• Recent NICU experience strongly preferred.

• BLS certification required.

• NRP certification required.

• Strong clinical, communication, and critical-thinking skills.

• Ability to work a 12-hour night shift and required weekend schedule.
