USPI Odessa Endoscopy Center is seeking a motivated Registered Nurse to join our team. We have 2 Treatment rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Gastroenterology. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.
Job Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for planning, executing, directing and evaluating direct and indirect nursing care given to patient. The nursing care ranges from preoperative intervention, intraoperative and postoperative evaluation while meeting the patient’s needs and ensuring continuity of care.
Responsibilities:
Perform all nursing duties in accordance with the state Nursing Practice Act, while adhering to all facility policies and procedures.
Actively demonstrate a working knowledge of nursing theory, techniques, principles, and practice in order to care for the patient.
Perform routine nursing care while utilizing age specific and universal precaution practices at all times Monitor patient progress and identifies any changes in status, acting on those changes to insure patient comfort and safety.
Assist physicians and all healthcare professionals caring for patient, always giving a complete and thorough report on patient status throughout procedure process.
Communicate with all staff, patients, and families with excellent written and verbal skills.
Consistently seek educational tools in order to broaden knowledge base of various age groups, diseases, and best practices.
Collaborates with the Infection Control Committee in preventing and identifying potential for infections.
Supports and demonstrates continuous improvement of quality and service excellence.
May perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
Must be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license in the state
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Must have at least 1-3 years' previous experience
Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred
Must have current BLS, ALS and PALS
Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians.
