• Pay Rate: $55.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: Day shift, 8-hour days; 08:00 17:00, Monday Friday

Job Summary

This is an Outpatient Oncology Clinic nursing position in which travelers are assigned to 1 2 providers and function more in a triage capacity than a traditional infusion role. Nurses speak with patients in the clinic about their coordinating care, call patients with results, triage phone calls, and provide patient education. Chemo/infusion is not performed at this facility. Patient diagnoses include Medical Oncology and Non-Malignant Hematology. The float requirement is active nurses may be floated as needed to other clinics on the same floor.

Key Responsibilities

• Assigned to 1 2 providers for coordination of care, patient education, and follow-up
• Triage patients in the clinic and discuss coordinating care with patients
• Call patients with results and triage phone calls
• Provide patient education
• Manage a patient load of approximately 20 visits per day across 4 rooms
• Float as needed to other clinics on the same floor

Required Skills

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Outpatient Oncology experience required
• EPIC experience required
• BLS certification required
• Proficiency with SBAR communication framework
• Must bring own stethoscope

Preferred Skills

• Administration of Chemotherapy
• Starting IVs
• OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification

Education Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• BLS certification required
• OCN certification preferred

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Outpatient Oncology experience required
• First-time travelers accepted with Outpatient Oncology experience
• Local candidates accepted

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Outpatient oncology clinic setting
• 20 patient visits per day; 4 rooms
• 8-hour day shifts; 08:00 17:00; Monday Friday; 40 hours per week offered
• No call requirement
• No weekend requirement
• Float requirement: Yes as needed to other clinics on the same floor
• Scrubs not provided
• No special equipment required
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)

Important Notes

• RTO (Return to Origin) after booking is NOT allowed and is NOT allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on unit could possibly result in a contract cancellation and DNR (Do Not Rehire).
• Must bring own stethoscope.
• Best-fit candidate has both outpatient oncology experience and EPIC experience. Candidates with at least one of these two requirements may be screened.
• Please provide interview availability for the next 72 hours when submitting. The manager WILL NOT make an offer without first speaking to/interviewing the candidate.
