Position: Registered Nurse - Operating Room
Location: Bethesda, MD 20892
Pay: $70/hr.
Duration: 13-week contract with possible extension
Schedule:
Monday–Friday | 7 AM - 03:30 PM
On-Call Requirement: Intermittent on-call coverage (14-15 times per month) for evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
Overview: Seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to provide perioperative care in an acute care hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have recent operating room experience, be proficient in both scrub and circulating nurse responsibilities, and collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the surgical team to ensure safe, efficient surgical procedures and outstanding patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide nursing care to patients throughout the perioperative process.
Perform both scrub and circulating nurse duties during surgical procedures.
Prepare and maintain a sterile operating room environment.
Ensure proper handling, preparation, and accountability of surgical instruments and equipment.
Monitor patient condition throughout surgical procedures and respond appropriately to changes.
Accurately document patient care and surgical procedures.
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the multidisciplinary surgical team to deliver safe, high-quality patient care.
Qualifiations
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Maryland.
Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
2-3 years of recent Operating Room experience in an acute care hospital.
Demonstrated experience performing both scrub and circulating nurse responsibilities.
Ability to participate in on-call coverage, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
