Assignment Details

  • Duration: 13 Weeks

  • Schedule: Variable shifts

  • Typical Hours: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM

  • On-Call: Required

Candidate Requirements

  • No local candidates within a 50-mile radius will be considered.

  • Required Certifications: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care to patients before, during, and immediately after surgical procedures.

  • Prepare operating rooms by ensuring equipment, instruments, and supplies are available, functional, and sterile.

  • Assist surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists during a wide variety of surgical procedures.

  • Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection prevention, patient safety, and surgical best practices.

  • Monitor patient status throughout the surgical procedure and respond promptly to changes in condition.

  • Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols.

  • Perform accurate instrument, sponge, and needle counts in collaboration with the surgical team.

  • Document patient assessments, intraoperative care, medications, and procedural details in the electronic medical record (EMR).

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care.

  • Participate in the on-call rotation and respond to emergency surgical cases as required.
