Step into a vital role within a high-functioning surgical environment. As an Operating Room RN, you will serve as the primary Circulator, acting as the patient’s advocate and the "orchestrator" of the OR suite. You will manage the sterile environment, coordinate with the surgical team, and ensure all safety protocols are meticulously followed for a variety of surgical specialties. With a dedicated 1:1 patient ratio and a supportive night-shift team, this position offers the autonomy to utilize your clinical expertise in a focused, 4-suite OR setting.
Key Duties:
Surgical Circulation: Act as the primary Circulating Nurse for a variety of cases, including General, Ortho, Neuro, OB-GYN, and ENT.
Patient Advocacy: Monitor the patient throughout the perioperative period, ensuring safety, comfort, and adherence to surgical plans.
Environment Management: Oversee the sterile field, ensure all equipment is functioning correctly, and manage surgical counts in collaboration with the scrub team.
Multidisciplinary Coordination: Partner with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and 24/7 in-house pharmacy staff to ensure seamless procedural flow.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely intraoperative records within the hospital’s EMR system.
Emergency Readiness: Remain prepared for urgent cases and participate in the call rotation as determined by departmental needs.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of professional Operating Room experience.
Licensure: Current Registered Nurse License.
Certifications: * BLS (American Heart Association) required.
ACLS and PALS (preferred).
Clinical Skills: Proven ability to circulate in a multi-specialty surgical environment.
Specialty Expertise: Specific experience in Neuro or Orthopedic surgical cases.
Adaptability: Ability to function effectively during night shifts (1800–0600) with a high degree of independence.
Professional Judgment: Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
Setting: 4-Suite Operating Room (Hospital Setting)
Work Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire
Shift: 12-Hour (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM)
Weekend/Call: Varies; specifics will be discussed during the interview process.
