Position Overview
We are seeking two motivated and clinical-minded Nurses to join our team providing essential care within New York State facilities. Whether you are an experienced Registered Nurse 1 or a Graduate Nurse beginning your professional journey, these roles offer the opportunity to deliver comprehensive nursing services to individuals in settings ranging from mental health and addiction services to correctional and developmental programs.
Key Responsibilities
Direct Clinical Care: Conduct thorough health assessments, obtain vital signs, and execute medical regimens prescribed by licensed healthcare providers.
Care Planning: Prepare, implement, and modify individualized nursing care plans to treat responses to actual or potential health problems.
Medication & Treatment: Administer medications and perform nursing procedures in accordance with Article 139 of the Education Law.
Monitoring: Observe and record symptoms, health status changes, and reactions to medications; coordinate diet and physical activity monitoring.
Team Collaboration: Serve as the nursing representative on interdisciplinary treatment teams to plan, implement, and evaluate individual care.
Education & Advocacy: Provide health teaching and counseling to individuals and families; advocate for individual needs and coordinate with outside agencies for continuity of care.
Supervision (RN 1 Level): Independently provide care and provide clinical supervision, instruction, and delegation to Graduate Nurses, LPNs, and direct care staff.
Available Classifications
Registered Nurse 1 (Full Performance): For licensed professionals who can operate independently and supervise lower-level staff.
Graduate Nurse (Entry Level): For those with a limited permit or awaiting licensure; work is performed under the close supervision of a higher-level RN.
Qualifications
RN 1: Must possess a current license and registration as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
Graduate Nurse: Must possess a limited permit as a Graduate Nurse in NYS OR be eligible to enter the examination for licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in NYS.
Specialized Interest: We are also looking for candidates interested in Psychiatric nursing (Mental Health/Addiction) and Rehabilitation nursing.
