What You'll Do:

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with CVA, TIA, and COVID-19
• Manage patient medications, including drips such as Levophed, Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Insulin
• Handle complex patient needs including CVL management, Foley catheter care, tube feedings (NGT or PEG), and arterial lines
• Respond to patient clinical changes, support rapid assessments, and perform EKG competency exam
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team including hospitalists, RT, PT, and OT staff
• Utilize Meditech Expanse EMR for documentation
• Float between stepdown and med-surg units, supporting staffing needs as required
• Maintain professional standards including proper badge placement, dress code, and restrictions on cell phone use

What You Need:

• Active RN license in Louisiana or compact state
• 2+ years of acute care RN experience, preferably with NIHSS skills
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (or willing to obtain)
• Experience with CVL, arterial lines, drip titration, and patient safety protocols
• Ability to pass EKG competency exam prior to start
• Strong communication, clinical decision-making skills, and professionalism

About the Assignment:
This 13-week assignment at a leading facility in Bossier City will involve caring for diverse patient populations in a PCU setting. The unit provides acute care for patients with neurological and other complex conditions, ensuring a dynamic and fulfilling nursing experience. The schedule includes every other weekend rotation, and work involves a combination of 4-day and 3-day work weeks, with flexibility for rotations like 2/2 or 5/2. Support staff such as resource nurses, RT, PT, and hospitalists are available around the clock to assist your care delivery.
