18 James - Med Onc PCU -D/N or N - AYA OFFER ONCOLOGY EXPERIENCE PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED! Unit Information: Medical Oncology with progressive care beds/pediatric patients. High acuity of PCU and small amount of med surg Schedule: *If you accept a 12D/N rotating contract, you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both, depending on the department s needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, but changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities at that time. Patient Diagnoses: Solid Tumor Orthopedic Oncology Thoracic Oncology Special Procedures/Unit Details: 18J is a 36 bed Oncology Telemetry unit with over 24 beds dedicated to PCU level of care. -Pediatric patients are cared for on this unit but are extremely rare and would likely be cared for by perm staff. Pediatric experience is NOT required to be agency RN here. Required: High acuity PCU patient experience -Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls Special Equipment: B450 monitors GE telemetry system. Bladder Scanner. Alaris pumps. Stryker beds. Continuous Bladder Irrigation PCA Pumps Requirements: Overall 2 years of acute care nursing exp, with atleast 1 year of PCU experience Certifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), ACLS & NIH Ratio: 1:4-5 Med Surg Telemetry Ratio: 1:3 PCU Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity. Previous travel experience preferred. Skills Required: Interpretation of dysrhythmias Use of rapid response teams Feeding tube care and management Accessing Ports Blood Product Administration Central line care/management Peripheral Line Care/Management PICC line management Starting IVs Heparin Protocols Manage Cardia drips- no titration PCA Titrate Cardiac drips Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac External CPAP/BIPAP High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) Interpretation of ABGs Nasal Cannula Tracheostomy Management Skills Preferred: Management of dysrhythmias IV insulin protocols Titration of Insulin drips Phlebotomy Chemotherapy Administration Monitoring Chemotherapy Wound Care/Wound Vac Arterial line management Surgical drains Non-invasive airway management Benefits: Competitive salary with auto offer. Agency staff have the following parking permit options (purchased through CampusParc at osu.campusparc.com): The WB and CXS permits require annual payment upfront and are not available as monthly permits. The WMC permit is available monthly. WMC Monthly Permit: 24/7 access to the Wexner Medical Center Garage $224.80/month or $748.58 per 100 days. WB Annual Permit: 9th Avenue East and West Garages on weekends and holidays; West Campus WB/WC lots 24/7 with shuttle service $196.20/year. CXS Annual Permit: 9th Avenue East and West Garages on weekends and holidays; Buckeye CX and West Campus lots 24/7 $393.96/year. WB Parking Details: Parking is available in West Campus Carmack Lots 2 and 3, approximately 1.7 miles from OSU Wexner Medical Center. The Pink Shuttle runs every 3 5 minutes during peak times and reaches the medical center in approximately 8 9 minutes. Weekend garage access is available from Friday at 2:00 p.m. through Monday at 8:00 a.m. Outside those hours, regular hourly garage rates apply. Refund Information: Prorated refunds may be available for unused future months on annual permits. Current and prior months are not refundable. Cancel by 6:30 p.m. on the last business day of the month to avoid the next charge. Refund checks may take 3 5 weeks. Quick Summary WMC: Closest option with guaranteed garage access; highest cost. CXS: Lower-cost option with multiple parking locations. WB: Lowest-cost option with frequent shuttle service; best value.
