Pay & Benefits
  • Pay Rate: $50.25/hour

What You'll Do
  • Provide acute care to cardiac and medical stepdown patients, including post-surgical, respiratory failure, and complex medical cases
  • Titrate cardiac, insulin, and vasopressor drips (e.g., Esmolol, Cardene, Amiodarone, Dopamine, Levophed)
  • Manage central lines, chest tubes, traches, and drains
  • Perform wound care and monitor patient status
  • Conduct patient assessments and document care in EMR (Meditech Expanse)
  • Support bedside procedures such as venous sheath management and temporary pacemaker handling
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members including CNAs, RTs, and house staff
What You Need
  • Required:
    • Louisiana RN license or compact state license
    • BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
    • 2+ years of recent PCU or Medical/Surgical nursing experience
    • Ability to pass EKG competency exam
  • Preferred:
    • LVAD certification (particularly for 2 West unit)
    • Experience with cardiac drips, wound care, or advanced patient monitoring
