What You’ll Do:
  • Provide expert nursing care to cardiac and medical stepdown patients, including those recovering from surgeries, cardiac interventions, and respiratory issues
  • Monitor and titrate cardiac drips, insulin, and vasopressors, including medications like Esmolol, Cardene, Amiodarone, Nipride, and more
  • Manage chest tubes, tracheostomies, central lines, drains, and other critical equipment
  • Perform patient assessments, pass medication, and ensure adherence to care protocols
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including RT, pharmacy, and unit support staff
  • Fulfill charting and documentation requirements using EMR system (Meditech Expanse)
  • Assist with patient education and discharge planning as appropriate
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols

What You Need:
Required:
  • Valid RN license in State of practice
  • Minimum of 2 years recent PCU or cardiac stepdown RN experience
  • Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
  • Ability to pass EKG competency exam prior to start
  • Proficiency in titrating cardiac medications and managing high-acuity patients

Preferred:
  • LVAD certification (for 2 West unit)
  • Experience with Meditech EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing
  • Strong assessment, communication, and teamwork skills
