Job Summary and Qualifications


POSITION SUMMARY:  


Under the general supervision of the unit’s Director or designee the Charge Nurse assumes responsibility for direction and coordination of all functions in the unit on his/her designated shifts.  In collaboration with other members of the management team, this individual is responsible for the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in unit.  The RN staff nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures of Las Palmas Medical Center. In collaboration with the patient, the patient’s family and other members of the health care team, the clinical RN assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, delegates and coordinates treatment plans and the plan of care.


What qualifications you will need:

REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS 


  1. Texas or Compact State Nursing License 


  1. ACLS Certification 


  1. BCLS Certification 


  1. PALS Certification within 6 months of hire 


 


 


REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE 


  1. Associates or Bachelors of Nursing  


  1. Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in PICU preferred.  


  1. Leadership and management experience preferred. 


    • Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
    • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
    • PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
    • (RN) Registered Nurse
    • Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree
     
  • No Travel Required
