Registered Nurse - Pediatric Surgery

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse with pediatric surgery experience to join a busy, specialized OR team. This position involves working in a fast-paced environment, delivering top-tier perioperative care to pediatric patients undergoing various surgical procedures. Required Skills:
- Minimum of 2+ years of recent OR experience, specifically in pediatric surgery or closely related specialties (neuro, ortho, ENT, general, eye)
- Proficiency in scrubbing preferred, but not mandatory
- Current BLS and PALS certifications
- Valid and active RN license
- Ability to complete documentation accurately and efficiently in Epic EHR system
- Must be able to meet submission requirements, including current NICOTINE-free status and recent references from OR supervisors or managers
- Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with office surgeries (not acceptable as primary experience)
- Familiarity with travel nursing documentation and procedures
- Additional certifications in pediatric care or surgical nursing
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or higher
- Pediatric surgical nursing experience preferred, with a minimum of 2 years in an OR setting
- Prior experience working with neuro, ortho, ENT, or eye surgeries
Other Requirements:
- Flu vaccination is mandatory without exceptions; candidates must demonstrate vaccination prior to assignment
- Must pass comprehensive drug screening, including nicotine testing
- Ability to work Saturday and Sunday, 7 AM to 7 PM, with no on-call responsibilities
- Must hold current BLS and PALS certifications
- Willingness to comply with facility-specific policies and procedures, including flu vaccination and other infection control measures
- Travel and licensure reimbursement provided where applicable
