Registered Nurse (PICU)

Summary:

• Location: Anschutz Medical Campus
• Duration: 13 Weeks
• Shift: 12H Rotating Days/Nights or 12H Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday, days or nights)
• On Call Requirement: None

Responsibilities:

• Provide care for patients from birth to 21 years with various diagnoses including respiratory issues, chronic childhood diseases, sepsis, TBI, DKA, seizure disorders, oncology, metabolic disorders, NAT, and surgical patients (neurosurgery, ENT, orthopedics, general surgery).
• Float as needed to other areas within clinical competence.

Requirements:

• Education: BSN
• Licensure/Certification: Colorado RN license
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in a comparable PICU as staff RN or 3 years if no previous travel experience.
• Equipment Proficiency: Trilogy & Drager ventilators, Codman ICP monitors, Medfusion syringe pumps, Baxter large volume IV pumps.
• Certifications: BLS, PALS
• Completed exemption form must be included in the submission package.

Preferred Skills:

• Prefer 2 years staff experience and 1 year travel experience in a teaching facility PICU.
• Preferred Certification: ACLS

Additional Information:

• Travelers will not float to ED, OR, or inpatient Psych.
• No RTO approved within the first two weeks of assignment.
• Medical/religious flu vaccine exemption requests allowed.
