    Job Description

    Job Summary

    Shriners Hospitals for Children is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to provide specialized nursing care to pediatric patients in our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). This role involves delivering high-quality, family-centered care to critically ill children.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assesses comprehensive data including physical, psychosocial, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual needs and interprets assessment information to derive the diagnosis.

    • Involves patient, family and health care team members in formulating a culturally appropriate individualized plan of care and identifies expected outcomes based on nursing assessment and diagnosis.

    • Implements the plan of care in partnership with the patient, family and health care team members.

    • Utilizes teaching strategies appropriate to the individual patient's condition and learning needs.

    • Evaluates the patient/family's understanding of and response to the plan of care.

    Required Qualifications

    • BSN or in progress

    • Philadelphia RN license

    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification 

    • PEAR, PALS, ACLS: Obtain within 1 year of employment 

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Two years acute care nursing experience

    • Bilingual English/Spanish

    Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
