    Job Description

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    The RN - Practice Coordinator performs selected nursing acts in the care of the ill, injured, or infirm patient under the direction of the Physician. This position collaborates with physicians and care providers to coordinate day-to-day patient care. The job involves working with patients, physicians and support staff to meet patient goals successfully.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Maintains a high degree of excellence in clinical outcomes while providing effective patient care.
    • Oversees daily clinical operations and supervises clinical team members by evaluating staffing needs, recruiting and selecting qualified candidates, coordinating onboarding and orientation, delivering ongoing training and professional development, and managing performance through coaching, counseling, and corrective action as appropriate.
    • Ensures timely completion of team member annual competencies, mandatory education, and required certifications to maintain compliance, clinical excellence, and high-quality patient care.
    • Collaborates with ancillary departments to perform and maintain clinical audits and compliance activities, including HLD (high level disinfection), clinical staff competencies, pharmacy sample log and medication storage audits, and hand-washing technique audits; provides documentation to ancillary departments and the Practice Manager as appropriate; Coordinates with ancillary departments such as Bio-Med for equipment maintenance and yearly calibration checks, warranty and repair needs.
    • Supports medical providers and maintains a clear and open communication path for quality care standards, communication and clinical operations.
    • Maintains responsibility for all documentation and reporting, developing and implementing plans for meeting regulatory requirements and clinical and budgetary management functions.
    • Prepares patient for provider; maintains supplies, rooms, and medications; performs and tracks tests and results; assists providers and nurses; performs chart documentation, review, and maintenance; performs front office duties when required and completes miscellaneous duties as assigned. Maintains patient flow in the clinical areas.
    • Processes orders for medical supplies and medications to keep present inventory current and in stock according to ordering protocol.
    • Cleans, packages, and sterilizes instruments and procedure supplies per regulatory standards. Cleans exam rooms and equipment per regulatory standards.
    • Maintains all office licensures as required by state agencies and ensures they are posted as required.
    • Develops and documents a plan of care with physician approval and support that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes, individualized to each patient according to condition and need using assessment data. Provides education material and communicate provider advice and instructions to patient.
    • Maintains current knowledge/certification/licensure. Pursues professional growth and development.


    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Education
    • Technical Diploma/Certificate Nursing Required or
    • Associates Degree Nursing Required
    • Bachelor's Degree Nursing Preferred

    Minimum Work Experience
    • 2 years Nursing experience Required

    Licenses and Certifications
    • Registered Nurse Licensed State of Florida or eligible compact state Upon Hire Required
    • BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association Upon Hire Required

    • Ability to provide excellent customer service.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPPA guidelines.
    • Must have the ability to communicate effectively, both written and orally, when in contact with co-workers, management, providers, patients and internal/external customers.
    • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously while ensuring quality patient care and operational efficiency.
    • Skilled and competent with use of computers and related software applications.
    • Ability to function in a fast paced, often stressful environment while maintaining a respectful, caring, calm, professional manner at all times.
