Wills Eye Hospital is hiring a Pre-Op/PACU Registered Nurse inPhiladelphia, PA at the Wills Eye Surgery Center - Philadelphia Stadium Campus. In this role, you’ll provide safe, patient-centered nursing care, apply clinical judgment, and collaborate with the healthcare team to support positive patient outcomes. This is a Per Diem opportunity for someone who wants to provide high-quality care while growing their clinical skills in a collaborative healthcare environment.

In this role, you’ll support safe, high-quality, patient-centered care while helping deliver high-quality ophthalmic care. You’ll manage patient care activities, clinical assessments, treatments, coordination of services, and contribute to a positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Possesses knowledge of and the ability to perform duties in accordance with established standards for all Nursing practices as set forth in the Hospital policies. 

  • Keeps proficient and is knowledgeable of patient’s needs, techniques, and requirements at all times. 

  • Assesses the learning needs of patients/significant other(s), and has knowledge of normal growth and development stages. 

  • Cares for specimens and cultures in accordance with Hospital policies and best practices. 

  • Possesses knowledge of anesthetic agents, techniques, actions and interactions to include patients of all ages.

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) required. 

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required. 

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required. 

  • Registered Nurse license in the state of Pennsylvania required. 

  • One year of clinical experience is required. 

  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing required. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent preferred. 

  • Three years of clinical experience is preferred.
