We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Pre-Op/Post-Op Registered Nurse (RN) to join our growing Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). In this role, you will provide exceptional nursing care before and after surgical procedures, ensuring patients receive safe, efficient, and high-quality care throughout their surgical experience. This position offers a predictable weekday schedule with no nights, weekends, or major holidays.
Essential Responsibilities:
Assess, prepare, and educate patients prior to surgery.
Perform pre-operative nursing assessments and review patient history, medications, and laboratory results.
Initiate IV access and administer medications as ordered.
Monitor patients during the recovery phase and provide post-anesthesia care.
Assess pain, vital signs, and recovery progress while recognizing and responding to changes in patient condition.
Provide discharge education to patients and caregivers, ensuring understanding of post-procedure instructions.
Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record.
Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, surgical staff, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver exceptional patient care.
Maintain compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, accreditation, and regulatory standards.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing education.
Qualifications:
Current Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Current BLS certification required; ACLS required or obtained within the required timeframe.
Minimum of one (1) year of RN experience required; experience in Pre-Op, PACU, Critical Care, Emergency Department, or Ambulatory Surgery preferred.
IV therapy proficiency and strong clinical assessment skills.
Excellent communication, organizational, and patient education abilities.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
