Job Summary and Qualifications

The Cardiac Rehab RN provides safe and effective care to a diverse group of inpatient and outpatient cardiac patients. As a nurse in the Cardiac Rehab department you will collaborate with Exercise Physiologists Physicians and Allied Health Technicians. What you will do in this role
You will perform comprehensive nursing assessments regarding the health status of the patient following standards of care and disease specific protocols.
You will plan implement and evaluate patient care plans to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
You will provide direct nursing care and supervise non-licensed nursing staff within the RNs scope of practice and in accordance with established policies.
You will provide education and emotional support appropriate to age culture condition and circumstance and incorporate patient family teaching into all aspects of nursing practice.
What qualifications you will need
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with a BSN or equivalent Dysrhythmia recognition pathophysiology of cardiovascular disease cardiovascularpulmonary assessment basic knowledge of exercise physiology and clinical exercise physiology preferred Cardiopulmonary assessment computer skills educational planning and teaching skills RN should have a holistic view of patient education experience and skills with older adults is important BLS certificationrequired
Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the states of practice andor has an active compact licensein accordance withlaw and regulation. Prefer ACSM certification at the Exercise Specialist level Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist or ANA Cardiac Rehabilitation certification A minimum of 1-year experience in ICU CCU or other critical care nursing is required a minimum of1-yearexperience in Cardiac Rehabilitation is preferred
