Position Overview

The Neurology PCU RN provides direct patient care to individuals recovering from or managing complex neurological conditions. Patients on the unit require closer observation than a traditional medical-surgical population but do not meet criteria for intensive care admission.

This role involves comprehensive patient assessment, medication administration, neurological monitoring, and collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to support recovery and safe transitions of care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in a neurology-focused progressive care unit
• Perform ongoing neurological and physical assessments to monitor patient status
• Identify and respond to changes in condition, escalating care when appropriate
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions as prescribed
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and recovery expectations
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Support patient safety initiatives and evidence-based nursing practices
• Assist with discharge planning and continuity of care efforts

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Minimum of 1 year of recent acute care nursing experience within the last 2 years required
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to manage patients with varying levels of neurological acuity in a fast-paced environment

Benefits

• Relocation assistance package including $7,000 relocation support and up to $1,800 per month housing assistance for 3 months
• Shift differential available
• Medical, dental, and vision insurance
• Retirement savings plan
• Paid time off and holiday benefits
• Continuing education and professional development opportunities
• Career advancement opportunities within a growing healthcare organization
• Supportive and collaborative team environment focused on quality patient outcomes

This opportunity is ideal for a nurse seeking to expand expertise in neurological care while working in a progressive care environment that combines advanced monitoring, interdisciplinary collaboration, and patient-centered care.
