Registered Nurse

Registered Nurse I – 
• Primarily 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM shift
• Occasional coverage for 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM shift as needed
Hours will vary based on need. Weekend days will be required, every other weekend.  
Pay: $60.00 - $74.00 per hour on W2

Facility & Transportation Details: 
- RIDOC campus includes 6 facilities 
- Assigned to one facility per shift, with possible rotation 
- Floating between facilities required based on needs 

Minimum Qualifications
• At least 1 year of nursing experience required
• Correctional experience not required

Required Credentials
• Active Registered Nurse License
• CPR/BLS Certification
• PPD (TB test)
• COVID Proof of Vaccination

Additional Requirements
• Reliable transportation required (floating between facilities)
• Background check form must be completed and submitted with application

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct nursing sick calls and new patient assessments
• Develop nursing diagnoses, care plans, and referrals
• Provide treatments, therapies, and health education
• Monitor patient health status and adjust care plans
• Assess mental health and refer as needed
• Administer medications via PO, SL, Buccal, SQ, IM, IV, and Parenteral routes
• Maintain medication accountability and documentation
• Start and maintain IV lines and infusion pumps
• Perform complex wound care and dressing changes
• Respond to emergencies and provide life support
• Collaborate with healthcare teams
• Document all care in EMR
• Maintain security of clinical areas and keys
• Report unusual inmate behavior
• Perform additional duties and trainings as required
