    Registered Nurse - Pulmonary Progressive Care

    Schedule: 7am-7pm, Full-time Days Department: Pulmonary Progressive Care Location: Forsyth Medical Center - Winston Salem, NC

Novant Health's Pulmonary Unit cares for a diverse respiratory patient population, including those with pneumonia, COPD, pulmonary embolism, influenza, respiratory conditions, and more. This is the perfect place to grow your skills and build confidence in a fast-paced, supportive environment. You'll gain hands-on experience with tracheostomies, ventilators, CPAP/BIPAP, and chest tubes-all while making a meaningful impact on patients' lives every single day. The structure allows RNs to focus on early intervention, advanced respiratory management, and proactive patient monitoring.

    What Youll Do

    • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions, including COPD, pneumonia, pulmonary embolism, influenza, and respiratory failure
    • Perform focused respiratory assessments and intervene early for patients with escalating oxygen and ventilatory needs
    • Manage specialized skills including:
    • Tracheostomy and ventilated patient care
    • CPAP/BIPAP and heated high-flow oxygen therapy
    • Chest tube management
    • Administration of blood products and select IV drips
    • Advanced respiratory assessment and intervention
    • Tracheostomy and ventilated patient management
    • CPAP/BIPAP & heated high flow oxygen therapy
    • Chest tube care and respiratory device management

    What Were Looking For

    • Education:
    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
    • 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
    • If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
    • Experience: One year of acute nursing experience required.
    • Licensure/Certification/Registration:
    • Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Red Cross or American Heart Association required.
