Registered Nurse- Regional Oncology Center (Clinical Coordinator)
The Clinical Coordinator is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker who oversees the daily operations of the assigned unit, supervises the Therapy Services and assists the Nurse Manager with planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating patient care and personnel.
LMHC, LCSW, or other Licensed, Master's Prepared Counselor
Graduation from an accredited School; Master's Degree and Clinical Licensure in their specialty required.
Five years' experience in clinical specialty.
Previous Supervisory experience preferred.
State of Florida Licensure in specialty.
Must demonstrate clinical competency and leadership skills.
Professionalism in interpersonal skills with patients, families and staff.
Good organizational and computer skills.
Serves as a liaison between members of the healthcare team, administration, Psych. Counselor's, COTA's, patients, families, Providers and outside agencies.
Ensures Psych. Counselors/Patient assignments are completed daily, and that assignments are based on patient acuity and skill level of staff available.
Performs patient rounds to ensure that needs are met and orders carried out.
Assesses patient care via observation, interviews, performance improvement surveys, and interactions with staff. Assists with timely follow-up for occurrence reports.
Works with manager and unit educator to plan, organize and evaluate the unit's Mental Health Group Program.
Assists manager with staff meetings and communication of new information to staff.
Maintains appropriate scheduling/staffing guidelines for Therapy staff, monitors progress and identifies educational needs of new employees.
Completes or assists with completion of formal performance evaluations for assigned staff.
Role models excellence in patient care activities; takes patient assignment as needed.
Supervises and assists with documentation in the patient's medical record.
Maintains knowledge base within area of specialty.
Works to resolve conflicts with patients, families and staff.
Unit expert with clinical documentation - both electronic and paper for downtime.
