Description
This is not a direct care giver role. instead, the selected candidate will act as a consultant focusing on patients with chronic or complex wounds in an inpatient rehabilitation setting., to improve the overall quality of life for patients and their families.
Assess wounds to determine their nature and severity,
and develop treatment plans to promote healing and prevent infection.
Works as part of a multidisciplinary team, including
physicians, nurse practitioners, nursing staff, social workers, and therapists,
to ensure comprehensive care and to optimize patient outcomes.
Provides guidance and training to patients, families,
and other caregivers on proper wound care techniques, infection
prevention, and pressure ulcer prevention strategies.
Stays updated on the latest wound care research,
techniques, products, and technologies
Provides recommendations for an evidence-based wound
care regimen and enters orders approved by the provider.
Requirements
Valid
New York State nursing license.

years of nursing experience with wound care hand-on experience
