Work Location
Working Hours
TSA core hours are 9:00 AM-3:00 PM. The position does not prescribe a specific eight-hour shift, weekends, or rotating shifts; staffing must support workload, response times, and required performance metrics, including approximately 50 AMC cases per key person per day, about six reviews per nurse per day, and at least 300 medical recommendations per day when sufficient cases exist.
Nurses may work remotely but must be able to report physically to TSA Headquarters for medical exam review training (typically in the first month), and whenever OCMO requests.
Qualifications
*Copies of all certifications and resumes must be forwarded with your application.
Summary of Duties: The Registered Nurse will review employee medical questionnaires, Fitness for Duty (FFD), FMLA, and medical examination records to assess medical qualifications for TSA personnel. Document case findings, obtain and review follow-up medical information, provide customer service, and support medical staff with qualification recommendations and case documentation.
Attire
The Registered Nurse is expected to wear approved professional clothing appropriate to the environment while on duty. Footwear will be closed-toe, flat-bottom, and completely cover the feet; fluid resistance and non-slip soles are preferred.
