REGISTERED NURSE/RHEUMATOLOGY INFUSION - CONTINGENT

The Toledo Clinic's Rheumatology Department, Arthritis Associates of NW Ohio, is seeking a Registered Nurse to work on a CONTINENT basis. This position will be scheduled as needed to work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday between 7:00am & 5:00pm. No evenings, weekends, or holidays! This position will schedule and prepare patients for infusion treatments and administer medication.

General Summary:

Assist physician(s) with patient treatment, prepares patients for physicians(s), educates patients, and provides general patient care

Works under the supervision of the Office Manager.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Example of Essential Duties:

• Schedule patients for infusions per physician orders.
• Prepare patient for infusion, take vitals initially & periodically during infusion while monitoring patient.
• Administer infusion medications.
• Educates the patient on procedures, medications, etc.
• Communicate with physicians regarding patient symptoms, any possible reaction, dosing, etc.
• Answers and returns calls regarding patient care that doesn't require physician input.

Other Essential Duties May Include (but are not limited to):

• Complete and ensure accuracy of patient charts.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

• Previous experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.
• Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
• Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.

Education:

• Bachelors degree in Nursing with prior infusion experience.
• Current RN license.
