Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health / Psychiatric
Location: Syracuse, NY 13210
Duration: 26 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift (3x12s | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Schedule: 36 hours/week | Every other weekend (post-training)


Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) with experience or interest in Behavioral Health to join a psychiatric care setting in Syracuse, NY. In this role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care, support patient recovery, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered treatment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Administer medications, injections, IV therapy, and prescribed treatments
  • Perform clinical procedures including tube feedings, wound care, and colostomy care
  • Monitor patient conditions and report changes to physicians and care teams
  • Record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure
  • Collect blood samples and other specimens (as certified)
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including hygiene, mobility, and feeding
  • Support admissions, transfers, and discharge planning processes
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Participate in patient assessments and interdisciplinary care planning
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to LPNs, Graduate Nurses, and support staff
  • Promote continuity of care through coordination with healthcare providers and external agencies
  • Advocate for patient needs and contribute to individualized care plans
  • Assist with staff training, reporting, and performance feedback

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Experience in Behavioral Health, Psychiatric, or Acute Care settings preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work night shifts and rotating weekend schedules
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing patient care needs

Education

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Certifications

  • Active RN License (Required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (AHA) preferred/required per facility policy
