Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive nursing care within a correctional healthcare setting. Responsibilities include administering medications, executing provider orders, assisting with examinations and treatments, and ensuring proper medical care for inmates/residents while maintaining safety and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
Administer medications and conduct pill call and sick call
Assist Licensed Independent Providers with examinations and treatments
Assess and triage new or ill inmates/residents and coordinate appropriate care
Perform emergency medical procedures and obtain treatment orders
Supervise and guide LPN/LVN and medical support staff
Maintain accurate and confidential medical records
Provide health education and counseling to inmates/residents
Ensure compliance with correctional healthcare policies and safety procedures
Requirements
Active RN License in the state of California
US Citizenship required for ICE facility clearance
Minimum 1 year of nursing experience preferred
Additional Notes
36/48 hour rotation schedule
Overtime: OT after 8 hrs/day, Double Time after 12 hrs/day
ICE clearance required prior to start (background & credit check)
Clearance process typically takes 4–6 weeks
Start date will be once ICE clearance is completed
