Registered Nurse (RN) - Substitute Clinical Instructor

Location: Pima Medical Institute - Aurora Campus | On-Site

Position Type: Part-Time, Substitute/PRN (As Needed)

Compensation: $40.00 - $46.89 per hour

Pima Medical Institute is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our Practical Nursing Program faculty as Substitute Clinical Instructors at our Aurora campus. This PRN role offers a focused, hands-on teaching opportunity, guiding and evaluating students in real-world clinical settings on a flexible schedule that works around your life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instruct and supervise students across all clinical experiences; arrange appropriate clinical experiences based on individual student needs.
  • Develop, implement, evaluate, and update the purpose, mission, and objectives of the Nursing Education Program.
  • Coordinate clinical education for all students and evaluate instruction provided by ANIP and Clinical Faculty.
  • Instruct students in appropriate techniques and methods of the Practical Nursing program.
  • Monitor student progress weekly and coordinate with the Clinical Director to develop Academic Success Plans.
  • Evaluate student performance and progress in accordance with clinical performance standards.
  • Maintain student attendance in accordance with established policies.
  • Coordinate resolutions to concerns between students and institutional staff members.
  • Conduct pre/post-conference discussions with students to connect classroom theory to clinical practice.
  • Maintain professionalism in interactions with students, faculty, staff, and clinical site personnel.
  • Maintain currency in clinical practice and stay current on changes in the nursing profession.
  • Attend faculty meetings unless otherwise excused.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Baccalaureate degree with a major in nursing, or currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in nursing, from a nationally accredited Nursing Education Program.
  • Minimum 3 years of practical experience as a Registered Nurse providing direct patient care.
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing teaching experience required.
  • Current, active, unencumbered Colorado RN license and any other credential required by local, state, or federal laws.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and general computer skills.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive Pay: $40.00 - $46.89 per hour.
