Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Assessment and Care Planning:

  • Perform thorough assessments of patients physical, emotional, and social needs.

  • Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

  • Implement nursing interventions based on patient needs and physician orders.

  • Patient Care and Monitoring:

  • Provide age-appropriate nursing care to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

  • Monitor patient outcomes and adjust care plans accordingly.

  • Administer medications and treatments safely and effectively.

  • Collaboration and Communication:

  • Communicate patient status and changes to physicians and other healthcare providers.

  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

  • Provide patient and family education tailored to individual learning needs.

  • Professional Development and Mentoring:

  • Educate and mentor nursing students, novice nurses, and peers.

  • Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities.

  • Uphold the standards set by the Idaho State Board of Nursing and the American Nurses Association.

  • Regulatory Compliance and Safety:

  • Adhere to Joint Commission accreditation requirements and hospital policies.

  • Promote a culture of safety by identifying and reporting potential risks.

  • Maintain competency in emergency nursing procedures and protocols.

  • Ethical and Professional Conduct:

  • Demonstrate professional behavior and act as a role model for staff.

  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with all organizational policies.

Qualifications:

  • Required Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

  • Required Licenses and Certifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Idaho or a compact state.

  • Required Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

  • Advanced Life Support (ALS/ACLS) certification.

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.

  • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification.

  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN).

  • Preferred Certifications:

  • Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN).

  • Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse (CPEN).

  • Work experience:

  • Minimum two (2) years in Emergency Medicine required

  • Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong critical thinking and time management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Ability to work effectively in high-stress, fast-paced environments.

  • Proficiency in using medical equipment and technology.

  • Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. from floor to waist occasionally.
  • Frequent patient transfers requiring physical assistance.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
  • Fine motor skills for patient handling and computer use.
  • Capability to perform tasks requiring kneeling, stooping, and climbing.

Work Environment:
