The Level 2 Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department provides high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced acute care hospital setting. This part-time role supports both day and night shifts and requires strong clinical judgment, the ability to manage high-acuity patients, and effective collaboration with the interdisciplinary emergency care team.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct nursing care to patients presenting with a wide range of emergency conditions
Perform rapid assessments, triage, and ongoing patient monitoring
Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and emergency interventions as ordered
Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
Assist with trauma response and emergency procedures
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions
Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record
Adhere to hospital safety, quality, and infection control standards
Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and support staff
Qualifications:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
Level 2 RN experience with demonstrated Emergency Department competency
Prior Emergency Department experience preferred
BLS required
Strong critical-thinking, multitasking, and communication skills
Schedule & Work Requirements:
Part-Time: 2 x 12-hour shifts per week
Days/Nights rotation
Every other weekend required
No on-call required
