The Level 2 Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality, patient-centered care in a community hospital. This role supports a fast-paced emergency department that delivers critical care services to a diverse patient population while collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary care team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care to patients presenting with a broad range of emergency conditions
- Perform rapid assessments, triage, and continuous patient monitoring
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and emergency interventions as ordered
- Respond quickly and effectively to changes in patient condition
- Assist with trauma response and emergency procedures
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
- Follow all hospital policies, safety protocols, and infection control standards
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and support staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Requirements:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Level 2 RN with demonstrated emergency department competency
- BLS and ACLS required
- Strong clinical judgment, multitasking ability, and communication skills
Orientation & Scheduling Requirements:
- Orientation held on a Monday and Tuesday
- First 4 week: Minimum of 2 shifts per week required
- Ongoing: 2 shifts per month thereafter
- Potential exception: Candidates with prior Returns/Meditech experience may be considered
