Job Summary and Qualifications The Staff RN assigned to the Float Pool cares for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The RN Float Pool will be scheduled to work in various Units as assigned.
What You Will Do In Your Role You will plan and prioritize age and specialty appropriate care of each patient assigned by communicating relevant information to appropriate healthcare professionals. You will competently and accurately complete age appropriate comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessment of patients, taking nursing history and assessment to identify nursing diagnosis and patient care needs. You will evaluate the patient/family response to and outcomes of implemented care and modifies the plan of care accordingly. You will implement and direct care using the nursing process with emphasis on the needs of individual patients. You will promote, initiate, or coordinate interdisciplinary care provision in an open communication system with patients, nursing personnel, physicians, clergy, and with all other persons who influence patient progress.
Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing is required. BSN is preferred. Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License. Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date. 1 year of RN floor nursing experience in an acute care setting is required. BLS Certification, American Heart Association or American Red Cross. ACLS Certification, American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 90 days of employment.
