Job Description
A health services organization in the Bronx, New York is seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their structured day program. The role focuses on monitoring health and safety, responding to minor concerns, and serving as a dependable nursing presence on site.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day shift
- Schedule: Monday through Friday
- Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
- Setting: Outpatient day program
Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site nursing support for participants in a low-acuity day program environment
- Assess and respond to walk-ins, minor complaints, and basic health concerns
- Monitor participant health and safety throughout the day
- Complete basic documentation and case notes as needed
- Serve as a clinical resource to program staff and escalate concerns appropriately
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse licensure
- Experience providing clinical oversight, monitoring, or basic nursing support in a structured or low-acuity setting
- Ability to work independently as the sole nurse on site
- Strong reliability, punctuality, and accountability
Desired Skills:
- Experience with IDD, OPWDD, or day habilitation programs
- Comfort working in a school nurse-style environment
- Calm, patient, and personable communication style
- Ability to support participants and staff with professionalism and sound judgment
