Job Description
An established nonprofit organization is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to support two day programs serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Brooklyn, New York. This role provides nursing oversight, staff guidance, and health monitoring in a non-clinical day program setting.
About the Opportunity:
Shift: Day shift
Schedule: Monday-Friday
Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Setting: Day Program / Non-Clinical / OPWDD
Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing oversight for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Maintain participant health documentation and records
- Communicate important health information to staff and families
- Train staff on OSHA requirements, first aid, and medication support
- Lead health and safety efforts within the programs
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Active New York State Registered Nurse license
- CPR certification
- Strong clinical judgment and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently
- Comfortable supervising staff and providing clinical guidance
Desired Skills:
- Experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Experience within OPWDD programs
- Day habilitation experience
- Prior supervisory experience with LPNs and AMAPs
