Job Description
An established community-based health organization is seeking a licensed Registered Nurse in the Bronx, NY to provide nursing support in residential settings serving individuals with developmental disabilities.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 8:00 AM to 4pm or 9am to 5pm
- Setting: Residential facility
Responsibilities:
- Provide first aid and respond to urgent health needs for individuals served
- Administer medications and oversee medication storage and administration practices
- Maintain medical documentation and participate in routine case reviews
- Support and train less experienced nursing staff as needed
- Coordinate health-related services, attend team meetings, and maintain nursing office supplies
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of Nursing experience in community-based health services for individuals with developmental disabilities
- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program
- Current New York State Registered Nurse license and registration
- CPR certification.
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills
Desired Skills:
- Experience with OPWDD or IDD residential services
- Familiarity with adaptive equipment, including wheelchairs and mobility devices
- Experience working across multiple program sites
